Discharge standard of pollutants for beer industry

Abstract:
The standard was formulated, taking account of China's policies for beer industry, for the purpose of implementing the Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, Law of the People's Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Water Pollution and Marine Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, promoting technological advance in beer production and pollution control, intensifying pollution control of beer brewers, preventing and controlling pollution, protecting human health and maintaining a good environment. The standard provides limit for pollutant discharge concentration of beer brewers and pollutant discharge volume per product. It applies to management of pollution discharge of present beer industry, environmental impact assessment of related construction projects that are newly built, expanded or rebuilt, design of environmental protection facilities, check upon their completion and pollution control and management after the facilities are put into operation. The standard serves to control and manage pollutants arising from production of beer and malt. As the first of its kind, the standard shall replace related provision set out in GB 8978£­1996 upon promulgation.
