Soil quality-Determination of total mercury-Cold atomic absorption spectrophotometry
(GB/T 17136-1997 putting into effect as of May 1, 1998)
Abstract:
The standard provides cold atomic absorption spectrophotomety for the determination of total mercury in soil. The detection limit varies with different size of apparatus. The minimum detection limit for this method is 0.005mg/kg (calculated by 2g sample). Volatile organic matter and vapor would interfere due to absorption at 253.7nm. Volatile organic matter could be removed when sample digests and vapor removed by CaCl2 anhydrous and magnesium perchlorate.
