What is the Mediterranean Action Plan?
An action-oriented regional effort involving 21 countries bordering the Mediterranean and the European Community to deal with common problems of marine pollution.

The Investment Fund
The main objective of the Fund is to facilitate the countries of the Mediterranean in implementing priority transboundary pollution reduction and habitat protection measures identified in the NAPs and SAP BIO and contribute to reversing the degradation of the marine ecosystems and freshwater basins
Present Status of the Partnership
* The GEF Council has approved the PDF-B Project in October 2005 * The PDF-B launched in 2006 to prepare the basis in the countries for the long-term implementation of the SAP and the projects identified in the NAPs.
