| This standard provides the limits and measurement method for exhaust pollutants from gasoline engines of heavy-duty vehicles, and the technological specifications and testing methods of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD). |
| This standard shall apply to the verification of the models of gasoline engines installed in categories M2, M3, N2 and N3 motor vehicles with designed speeds more than 25km/h as well as category M1 motor vehicles with total mass over 3,500 kg, their production consistency inspection and in-use car/engine compliance inspection. Should the category M2 motor vehicle installed with gasoline engines have gone through the model verification according to GB18352.3-2005, then the model of such engines may not be verified according to this standard. |
| Limits and Measurement Methods for Exhaust Pollutants from Positive Ignition (P.I) Engines of Vehicles and Vehicles Equipped with P.I. Engines (GB 14762-2002) shall be abolished as of the day this standard goes to effect. |
| According to relevant laws and regulations, this standard has compulsory execution effect. |

| This standard includes three levels, the first level represents the international advanced level of cleaner production, the second represents domestic advanced level of cleaner production, and the third represents domestic basic level of cleaner production.
