On Sept. 2, Vice Minister Li Ganjie met in Beijing with Mr. Oleg Deripaska, Russian Chairman of Ecology Committee with China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development (CRFCPD), and President of UC RUSAL. The two sides exchanged views on environmental issues of common concern.
On Sept. 8, Minister Chen Jining went on an inspection tour to Sino-Japan Friendship Center for Environmental Protection and heard their work report. He Jie, a Leading Party Member and Director General of Department of Human Resources Management and Institutional Affairs, accompanied Chen in the tour.
On Sept. 9, MEP hosted a tutoring lecture on “three stricts and three honests” among the central team of the Leading Party Group. Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Minister Chen Jining, leader of the Permanent Discipline Inspection Group Zhou Ying, Vice Minister Li Ganjie, and Chief Engineer Wan Bentai attended the lecture, which was moderated by He Jie, a Leading Party member and Director General of the Department of Human Resources Management and Institutional Affairs. Sun Xiguo, Executive Dean of Marxism School of Peking University, gave the lecture. The Party members with the internal departments of MEP, the leadership teams of Beijing-based regional offices and affiliated institutions, Party cadres, and cadres working at work unions and for the young and women staff listened to the lecture.
On Sept. 11, the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting which deliberated and adopted the “Master Plan for Institutional Reform on Ecological Civilization”. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council printed and distributed the “Master Plan for Institutional Reform on Ecological Civilization”.
On Sept. 14, Vice Minister Pan Yue spoke at the training session on environment communication strategies for “internet+”.
On Sept. 14, the 11th Forum on Environment and Development & 2015 China International Ecological Environment Technology and Equipment Expo (EE TECH 2015) was held in Beijing. Vice Minister Wu Xiaoqing spoke at the event.
On Sept. 16, MEP organized in Beijing the 30th anniversary of “Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer” & a commemorative meeting on the International Ozone Layer Protection Day. Minister Chen Jining spoke at the meeting, which was chaired by Vice Minister Zhai Qing. Executive Secretary of the UNEP Ozone Secretariat Ms. Tina Birmpili spoke at the event.
Between Sept. 18 and 21, the 12th China-ASEAN Expo & 12th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit was held in Nanning Municipality, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China. Vice Minister Li Ganjie attended the opening ceremony and exchanged views with Zhang Xiulong, Vice Chairman of the Region, on issues such as working together to advance the environmental cooperation with ASEAN and building green “One Belt and One Road”.
On Sept. 22, Vice Minister Li Ganjie met in Beijing with Mr. David Parker, Deputy Secretary General of Australian Department of the Environment. The two sides exchanged views on environmental issues of common concern.
Between Sept. 24 and 25, Minister Chen Jining went to Yunnan Province for an inspection tour, in an effort to have a deep understanding of the integrated ecological environment management and protection of Erhai Lake and Dianchi Lake, and chaired a symposium on the eco-environment conservation of lakes with relatively good water quality. Vice Minister Zhai Qing and Deputy Governor of Yunnan Liu Huiyan accompanied Chen in these activities.
On Sept. 25, the leader of the Permanent Discipline Inspection Group and a Leading Party Member Zhou Ying chaired a plenary meeting among the Discipline Inspection Group and the Supervision Bureau, which conveyed the guidelines of the speech of Comrade Wang Qishan at the symposium on the supervision over discipline inspectors, and proposed specific requirements for self-improvement.
On Sept. 28, MEP issued the “Administrative Measures concerning the Qualifications for the Environmental Impact Assessment of Construction Projects”, which shall take effect as of Nov.1, 2015. The “Administrative Measures concerning the Qualifications for the Environmental Impact Assessment of Construction Projects”, which was issued by the former State Environmental Protection Administration, was abolished in the meantime.
On Sept. 29, the training seminar for the (Deputy) Director Generals in charge of environmental monitoring opened in Dujiangyan Municipality, Sichuan Province in southwest China. Vice Minister Wu Xiaoqing spoke at the opening ceremony.
