On June 3, MEP approved five standards as national standards on environmental protection including Ambient air and stationary source emissions — Determination of gas and particle-phase polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry which will be put into effect as of Sep. 1, 2013.
On June 4, the symposium of directors of environmental protection bureaus and departments of North China on exchanges and reporting was held in Beijing .MEP Vice Minister Zhai Qing attended the meeting and made remarks.
On June 5, a concert featuring 2013 "June 5" World Environment Day and co-organized by MEP, the All-China Women's Federation and Beijing Municipal People's Government was put on stage at the National Center for the Performing Arts. Vice Chairman of the 12th National Committee of CPPCC Wang Jiarui, head of the Discipline Inspection Group of CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in Ministry of Environmental Protection Zhou Ying, Secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation Wang Hongyan and Vice Mayor of Beijing Lin Keqing attended the concert.
On the same day, the Commemorative Meeting of 2013 "June 5" World Environment Day and the Launching Ceremony of the "Environment-friendly Women Ambassador Action" was held in Beijing. Vice Ministers of MEP Li Ganjie and Vice President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Song Xiuyan attended the meeting and presented representatives of the youth and women environment-friendly ambassadors for a new term with certificates. Li Ganjie also presented the representatives with the flag and, together with Li Pizheng, Vice President of China Post Group (CPG), unveiled the commemorative postcard of the Chinese theme of "June 5" World Environment Day.
On the same day, a 100-university theme activity entitled Practicing Ecological Civilization and Pursuing the Dream of Youth in commemoration of "June 5" World Environment Day was held at Beijing Forestry University. MEP Vice Minister Li Ganjie attended the activity and made remarks.
On June 6, MEP held an expert review meeting on the Plan of Jiangsu Province on Building Ecological Civilization in Nanjing. MEP Vice Minister Li Ganjie attended the meeting and made remarks.
On June 8, MEP released the list of first batch of national environmental education bases for middle schools and primary schools.
On June 13, MEP released the list of the second group of companies granted license for operating environmental pollution control facilities in 2013.
On June 14, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council chaired an executive meeting, making arrangement on the ten measures for air pollution prevention and control and discussing the methods to facilitate the healthy development of the photovoltaic industry.
On June 19, MEP Chief Engineer on Nuclear Safety Liu Hua met with Dr. Waleed Hussain Abulfara, Vice President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy and a delegation led by Luc Oursel, President & CEO of AREVA Group respectively in Beijing. They exchanged views on environmental topics of common concern.
On June 24, MEP issued Circular on Accelerating the Implementation of Monitoring Scheme (Stage II) on the New Air Quality Standard.
On June 26, MEP held a video conference on inspection and accounting of pollution reduction for the first half of 2013 in Beijing. MEP Vice Minister Zhai Qing attended the meeting and made remarks.
On the same day, Chief Engineer on Nuclear Safety Liu Hua, on behalf of MEP Minister Zhou Shengxian, recently attended and addressed the Delivery Ceremony of Fiat Green Engines to Beijing with Mr. Corrado Clini, CCICED Council Member and former Minister of Italy Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea.
On June 27, MEP issued Circular on 2013 Inspection on Environmental Safety.
On June 28, MEP Minister Zhou Shengxian met with Yoon Seongkyu, the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea in Beijing. They exchanged views on environmental issues of common concern.
