On Jul 1, Premier Wen Jiabao met Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand at the People's Great Hall. After the meeting, Minister Xie Zhenhua of SEPA and Mr. Yongyut Tiyapairat, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand signed "Memorandum of Understanding on Environmental Protection" between two countries.
On Jul 6, SEPA issued the circular to implement Discharge Standard for Light Vehicles at Phase II which would take effect on July 7, 2005.
On Jul 7, SEPA organized experts to appraise "EIA report for Non-leaky Lake Project of Yuanmingyuan Park" drafted by Tsinghua University. The report was approved and the Management Division of Yuanmingyuan Park was required to implement improvement measures.
On Jul 11, Vice Minister Zhu Guangyao of SEPA met a delegation of the Economic, Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Policy Committee of SAEIMA headed by Chairman Dzintars Jaundzelkars. They exchanged views on the environmental issues of common concern.
On Jul 14, the International Seminar on Low-sulfuration of Vehicle Fuel was convened in Beijing jointly by SEPA of China and EPA of USA.
On Jul 18, Minister Xie Zhenhua of SEPA met Mr. Mutsuyoshi Nishimura, Ambassador for Global Environmental Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan. They exchanged views on climate change and other environmental issues.
On Jul 18, SEPA issued "Discharge Standard for Pollutants of Beer Industry" [Announcement No.34 (2005)].
On Jul 21, SEPA issued the circular to implement management on production quota permit, usage quota permit and registration of sales[Correspondance No.289 (2005)].
On Jul 24, the Second Environmental Cooperation Meeting in Extensive Zhujiang Delta Region was convened in Chengdu of Sichuan Province. Vice Minister Zhang Lijun of SEPA attended and addressed the meeting.
On Jul 27, SEPA approved "Method for Estimation of Air Pollution from
Vehicular Emission in Urban Area" to be the industry standard for environmental protection which would be effective on Oct 1 of 2005[Announcement No.32 (2005)].
On Jul 27, SEPA issued "Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants for Medical Organizations"[Announcement No.35 (2005)].
