On Oct 8, "Sino-Japn Environmental Cooperation Week" sponsored by SEPA and Foreign Affairs Ministry and Environment Ministry of Japan inaugurated for the 30th anniversary celebration of diplomatic relationships establishment and promotion of environmental cooperation between China and Japan.
On Oct 10, SEPA organized to hold "the National Video and Teleconference on Government Affairs to the Public in the Environmetnal Protection System".
On Oct 16-18, the second Assembly of the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) was held in Beijing with the attendance of officials from GEF members and international organizations, such as the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and regional development banks and some non-government organizations. The Beijing Declaration of the Second GEF Assembly was adopted at the meeting.

On Oct 29-31, the First China International Environmental Monitoring Instruments Exhibition jointly sponsored by SEPA and China National Environmental Monitoring Center was held in Beijing.
